US Praises King Mohammed VI’s Climate Leadership, Seeks Deeper Partnership

King Mohammed VI was congratulated on Wednesday by the United States, which praised the personal and remarkable commitment of the sovereign to the climate.
The U.S. Special Envoy, John Kerry, who spoke on the sidelines of the virtual ministerial meeting on the theme: "Climate and Development", indicated that the King of Morocco demonstrated his personal commitment to the fight against climate change at COP22 in 2016 in Marrakech, stating that: "the kingdom is an important partner in the international fight against climate change".
"We look forward to deepening our partnership" in the context of the 26th United Nations Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP26) from November 1 to 12, 2021 in Glasgow, John Kerry added in a tweet.
At the initiative of the United Kingdom, the ministerial meeting on "Climate and Development" brought together ministers and officials to identify the next steps to address a series of priority issues for climate-vulnerable communities ahead of COP26.
