Pope Francis Calls for Unity and Dignity in Mass Attended by 10,000 in Morocco

Some 10,000 people attended Sunday morning at the Prince Moulay Abdellah sports complex in Rabat a religious ceremony as part of the visit of the sovereign pontiff to the kingdom.
In his homily, Pope Francis rejected the "divisions, confrontations, aggression, conflicts and inhumane conditions" experienced by peoples and communities around the world, while pleading for "human dignity" and "fraternity" between peoples.
For the sovereign pontiff, fraternity is the only way to "overcome our short-sighted logics that divide" and achieve a "gaze that does not pretend to close or abandon our differences," emphasizing the need to "live, not as enemies, but as brothers," and calling for "promoting the values of peace, coexistence and fraternity between peoples and religions."
In addition to 500 choristers from various parish choirs in the Kingdom, this ceremony was attended by several members of the government, heads of Moroccan political parties, ambassadors and diplomats accredited to Morocco, and representatives of the various religious communities in the Kingdom.
At the end of the ceremony, the Pope thanked King Mohammed VI as well as the Moroccan authorities and all those who contributed to the smooth running of his visit to the Kingdom.
