Polisario Threatens Morocco Desert Challenge Rally Over Disputed Sahara Route

The Polisario has threatened the organizers of the Morocco Desert Challenge, an event scheduled from December 27 to January 10, 2024, with stages in the Sahara, including a passage through El Guerguerate, where the Moroccan army had forcibly dislodged separatists.
New threats from the Polisario. In a statement, the separatist movement warned the organizers of the Morocco Desert Challenge, which will be held in particular in El Guerguerate. It "warns that the entire territory of the ’Sahrawi Republic’, including its land, maritime and airspace, remains an open war zone, due to the violation of the ceasefire by Morocco on November 13, 2020." "Consequently, the Government of the Sahrawi Republic once again calls on all countries of the world and the public and private sectors to refrain from any activity of any kind on the Sahrawi national territory and warns the organizers of the 10th edition of the ’Sahara Desert Challenge’, all participants and sponsors, and holds them responsible for the consequences that could result from their entry and crossing of the Sahrawi national territory," the same source continues.
The Polisario also says "it reserves the right to use all legitimate means to respond firmly to any action aimed at undermining its sovereignty and national territorial integrity."
