Polisario Leader Slams UAE’s Longstanding Military Support for Morocco

Brahim Ghali, leader of the Polisario, takes a dim view of the support the United Arab Emirates are providing to Morocco on several fronts, including military and economic.
Brahim Ghali is angry with the United Arab Emirates because of their support for Morocco. During a press conference with the international press covering the film festival in the camps, he denounced the support this country has been providing to the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) "since the 1970s and which continues to this day". Describing the United Arab Emirates as "a small country geographically distant from North Africa", the Secretary General of the Polisario considers that this "small country should have been more sensitive to the aggression against a small country like the Sahara, because the scenario could be repeated with them."
These criticisms from the Polisario follow the accusations made by its protector, Algeria against the UAE, as well as Israel. Algiers accuses these two countries of allying with Morocco against it, on a number of issues, including the Sahara issue. For Algeria, the UAE supports Morocco with weapons, in addition to economic support through huge investments in the Sahara. The neighbor to the east also accuses Abu Dhabi of deliberately refusing to reveal the funds that were transferred to it by Algerian personalities belonging to the power of the late Abdelaziz Bouteflika, former Algerian president, and to provide information on sums of money reaching $300 million that Algeria believes the UAE is hiding, it is reported.
