Polisario Claims Attacks in Western Sahara Ahead of UN Resolution

Suspicions about the involvement of the Polisario, protected by Algeria, in the attacks on Es-Semara are confirmed. The movement claimed overnight on Sunday a military operation targeting the sectors of Mahbès, Es-Semara and Farsia. These attacks come on the eve of the adoption of the Security Council resolution on the Sahara.
The separatists "targeted this Sunday the enemy forces in the sectors of Mahbès, Es-Semara and Farsia", indicates the Polisario in a communiqué published late at night on October 29. These are "concentrated and violent bombardments", specifies the independence movement led by Brahim Ghali, adding that these attacks caused "heavy losses" in the aforementioned sectors.
On Sunday, the ZAP, Hay Essalam, and the industrial district (two explosions) neighborhoods were hit by four explosions, according to the local authorities of the province of Es-Semara. The toll is one dead (a Moroccan living abroad) and three injured, two of whom are in serious condition. After receiving first aid, they were transported to the hospital in Laâyoune, 200 km west of Smara, a city of over 66,000 inhabitants.
