Police Officers Injured in Stone Attack During Arrest in Kenitra, Morocco

A judicial investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of the stone throwing attack that a police patrol was the victim of. The incident occurred in Kenitra, during the arrest of three individuals suspected of violating the state of health emergency, possession of bladed weapons and threatening people and property.
Three police officers were injured and transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary care. This is the result of the stone throwing attack carried out by a group of individuals against the elements of a police patrol, reports La Map. The prefectural judicial police service of the city of Kenitra opened an investigation on Sunday, under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, to determine the circumstances of the attack.
In a press release, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicated that a police patrol had intervened at night to arrest an individual who was threatening the safety of citizens with a bladed weapon in the Saknia district. Two other individuals were also arrested during the same intervention. One climbed onto the roof of the police vehicle and the other, the owner of the mobile phone that the former used to film himself on the vehicle. The three individuals are suspected of violating the state of health emergency, possession of bladed weapons and threatening people and property, the press release states.
The arrested suspect is being held in custody pending the results of the ongoing investigations, which should lead to the arrest of all those involved in this attack.
