Police Officer in Morocco Gets 30-Year Sentence for Killing Superior After Argument

A sentence of 30 years in prison has just been handed down by the criminal chamber of the court of first instance in Meknes against a police officer accused of killing his superior.
Prosecuted for premeditated manslaughter, gunshot wounds and injuries, the police officer with the rank of chief brigadier had argued with his boss last August in Ifrane.
"The police brigadier, who serves within the urban corps of the city of Ifrane, had argued with his superior, a police lieutenant, in the latter’s office. The argument later escalated, with the police officer drawing his service weapon and hitting his boss with a bullet, causing his death," the DGSN said in a statement that same evening.
On the day of the tragedy, exactly August 28, two other police officers had also been injured and the DGSN had decided to fully cover the funeral expenses of the police lieutenant.
