Police Inspector Critically Injured in Salé Checkpoint Incident; Suspect Arrested

The elements of the National Security of Salé succeeded in arresting a car driver for his alleged involvement in an attempted voluntary manslaughter against a traffic officer, and for refusing to comply.
According to the press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), a 25-year-old driver with a criminal record forced a police checkpoint on the road to the Salé air base, in the afternoon of Monday, October 7th.
Refusing to comply with the orders of the traffic officers, who wanted to stop him for speeding, the driver, in an attempt to flee the control, hit a police inspector, causing him serious head injuries.
The suspect was quickly apprehended by the National Security elements, who placed him in custody, at the disposal of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, in order to determine the circumstances of this case.
