Police Dogs Uncover 26 Gold Ingots in Bus Passenger’s Luggage at Laâyoune Checkpoint

Police dogs belonging to the national police have been behind a very nice catch at the entrance of the city of Laâyoune. Nearly 26 gold ingots were found in the belongings of a passenger traveling by bus.
The dogs trained by the Cynological Brigade managed to spot a large quantity of gold, carefully hidden in the belongings of an individual on board a bus coming from northern Morocco.
According to the site Aljarida24, the individual, who was heading to Laâyoune, had tried to conceal 25 ingots in his luggage, and another in his shoe. The discovery was made during a routine check at the entrance to the southern city.
An investigation has been opened by the Judicial Police services to determine the origin of the seized gold, while the individual has been taken into custody at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
