Police Confirm Murder in 15-Year-Old Cold Case of Missing Moroccan Teen Thami Bennani

The police have just confirmed the murder theory in the Thami Bennani case, the 17-year-old boy who has been missing for more than 15 years in Mohammedia. A first victory for his family, and especially his mother who has been fighting for years to solve the disturbing disappearance of her son.
Hayat, Thami Bennani’s mother, has turned into a private detective since the disappearance of her son under mysterious circumstances. After conducting her own investigations, she managed to gather evidence and clues that she passed on to the police. Without success. The alleged accused, five friends of her son, from "rich and influential" families, were not questioned because, according to the police, her son, "drugged" and "unstable", would have committed suicide, reports Hespress.
The mother is not convinced by this suicide theory. She denounces the stagnation of the investigation, "negligence", "attempts" to close the case without follow-up, and "pressure" exerted by influential people to exonerate the alleged accused. She maintains that her son was the victim of murder and demands justice. During the hearing last Friday, the public prosecutor’s office of the Casablanca Court of Appeal confirmed the theory of Thami’s murder, indicating that the young man had been found decapitated and that his body bore several marks of contusions.
The deputy prosecutor general also specified that the tear in the victim’s pants was due to the fact that his body had been dragged from the murder scene to the place where it was found. Based on these elements, the prosecution concluded that Thami had been the victim of violence and requested the maximum sentences against the accused, who are in detention at the Oukacha prison.
At the end of the hearing, Hayat expressed her satisfaction. "The public prosecutor’s office was up to our expectations and in line with the reality of the case, and that it was heading towards the truth, namely that Thami Bennani was indeed killed," she said, adding that "the word ’murder’ of Thami had been absent for years, and today the public prosecutor’s office and the defense have mentioned it." The hearing was postponed to next Monday, an opportunity for the defense lawyers to make their pleadings, pending the final verdict of the Court.
