EU Pledges $150 Million to Boost Remote Learning in Morocco Amid COVID-19

As part of the management of the covid-19 crisis in Morocco, an aid agreement worth 1.5 billion dirhams was signed on Monday by the European Union, in order to facilitate access to distance education for school-age people.
The agreement was signed by the European Union Ambassador to Morocco, Claudia Wiedey, the Moroccan Ministers of Economy and Finance, and National Education, as well as the director of the national agency for the fight against illiteracy.
The new program is said to be based on an innovative approach that allows all sectors of training and education to be associated, so as to place the learner, their needs and their development at the center of the educational act.
A strategic partner of the kingdom, the European Union has accompanied Morocco since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic, by allocating 450 million euros to urgent actions to fight the pandemic.
