PJD Shakes Up Election Lineup: Key Figures Excluded, New Faces Emerge

The Party of Justice and Development (PJD) has unveiled a second list of its candidates for the upcoming elections. It appears that several influential members have been excluded and that many young activists and new skills have not been accredited.

Mustapha Ramid, Minister of State in charge of Human Rights and Relations with Parliament, El Moukriî Abouzayd, MP for El Jadida, Amina Maelainine, MP for Hay Hassani in Casablanca, Mohamed Yatim elected from Sidi Bernoussi are not on the second list of PJD candidates for the upcoming elections. They have simply been excluded by the Islamist party.

Among the candidates designated to lead the lists of La Lampe, there are the former ministers Habib Choubani and Mustapha El Khalfi who will run respectively in Midelt and Sidi Bennour, the former minister, Bassima El Hakkaoui in Anfa and the current Minister of Employment and Social Integration, Mohamed Amekraz, in Tiznit. The mayor of Meknes, Abdellah Bouanou, will lead the PJD list in the same constituency. As for the mayor of Casablanca, Abdelaziz El Omari, he will run in Ain Chock.

In the Hay Hassani constituency, Reda Hakim Bennani has been appointed to replace Amina Maelainine, in Sid Bernoussi, Mohamed Yatim has been replaced by his deputy Abdelmajid Ait Laâdila. In El Jadida, the party has chosen Abderrahim Azmi instead of El Moukriî Abouzayd. In Fez and Sala Al Jadida, the Islamist party has not yet appointed these candidates.

Other candidacies: Mustapha El Alaoui (Berchid), Rafik Oulbachir (Berkane), Jamal Massoudi (Taza), Said Al Aarabi (Taounante-Tissa), Said Chakir (El Karia-Ghafsaye), Mustapha Belfdile (Boulemane), Driss Meskine (Sefrou), Abdelmajid Mzour (Ben M’sik Sidi Othmane), Mohcine Moufidi (Moulay Rchid), El Fatmi Ramid (Al Fida Mers Sultan), Najib Bekkali (Mohammedia), Mohamed Benjelloul (Benslimane) and Mohamed Bakiri (Agadir-Ida Outanane).
