PJD Party Sanctions Three Advisors for Defying Resignation Order

The three advisors of the Party of Justice and Development (PJD) who did not want to resign from the second chamber, in accordance with the injunctions of the party leaders, have been sanctioned.

These are Mustapha Dahmani, Mohamed Benfqih and Said Chakir, elected to sit in the Chamber of Advisors in the last elections. They are now persona non grata within their party, reports H24info, adding that the party secretariat has announced heavy sanctions against them.

In a press release, the Lamp party, which does not recognize the election results, had stated that it was not "concerned" by membership in the Chamber of Advisors and had called on its "declared winners" candidates to submit their resignations. An injunction apparently ignored by the elected officials concerned.

Consequence, ten days later, the party secretariat announced "disciplinary measures" against Mustapha Dahmani and Mohamed Benfqih, the press release notes, specifying that their "responsibilities" within the party and their "membership" in its various bodies have also been suspended. They will no longer have "any representative power in the elected councils" in the name of the PJD and will no longer be able to speak or act on its behalf within these councils.

As for the third elected official, Said Chaki, the PJD indicates that his membership in the PJD was not finalized until now. "The party was in the process of completing the procedures for his membership," writes the general secretariat, "but what he has done has required the suspension of these procedures".
