PJD Official Resigns After Criticizing Moroccan Minister on Facebook

Omar El Mourabet, deputy mayor of a locality in the Paris region, is no longer a member of the national council of the Party of Justice and Development (PJD). He was forced to resign for having harshly criticized Nezha El Ouafi, minister in charge of Moroccans residing abroad (MRE).

Omar El Mourabet is paying the price for his misconduct. Souleymane El Amrani, vice-secretary general and president of the PJD’s international relations commission, asked him to submit his resignation after he criticized the appointment of Nezha El Ouafi as minister in charge of MREs in a post on his Facebook page.

"In response to the request of the brother and head of the party’s international relations commission, who asked me to submit my resignation following my publication of a post on Facebook, I will respond to his request before my immediate resignation, wishing him full success in his duties," wrote the now former PJD member of the diaspora on his Facebook page.

The politician had commented on the speech given by Minister Nezha El Ouafi during the winter university in Ifrane in these terms: "I will not explain how the minister became a parliamentarian without the knowledge of the Moroccans of the world affiliated with the PJD at the time, and how she was surprised by her appointment after the apologies of the virtuous sister Souad Tamsamani, who was proposed without it being useful."

"I don’t follow the minister’s speeches because personally, and despite my great knowledge of the Arabic language, I don’t understand everything she says, or rather what she meant to say," had ironized Omar El Mourabet.
