PJD Official Faces Scrutiny Over Illegal Construction in Agadir Housing Project

The construction site of a housing estate near the "Tikiouine" area in the city of Agadir has been halted. And for good reason, the PJD parliamentarian and president of the Dchira Jihadia Municipal Council, Ramadan Bouachra, who is also the promoter of the "Taghazout" project, is said to have violated the urban planning law.
The Wali of the Souss Massa region has instructed his services to control the construction site of a housing estate and to impose sanctions in case of construction defects and violation of the law, reports Al Akhbar. A central commission from the Ministry of the Interior also carried out an inspection of the said construction site. Violations were found in the execution of the "Taghazout" project. As a result, several buildings were demolished and equipment and bulldozers were seized.
The acquisition of state-owned land by the parliamentarian Ramadan Bouachra had in the meantime sparked lively controversy. On his Facebook page, he tried to explain how he had acquired the plot of land transformed into a residential and tourist project. He says he has been renting this agricultural land belonging to the state domain for 18 years like any other beneficiary. He also claims to have submitted an application like all other developers. However, he asked to have partners on the project because his resources were limited.
