PJD Leader’s Murder Trial Delayed Again in Decades-Old Student Killing Case

Another postponement of the trial of Abdelali Hamieddine, a parliamentarian and one of the leaders of the Party of Justice and Development (PJD), prosecuted for the murder of the left-wing student Mohamed Ait El Jid Benaissa.
The criminal chamber of the court of first instance near the court of appeal of Fez decided, on Tuesday, to postpone this long-awaited trial to November 23. The reasons given for this new postponement is the absence of the main witness in this case. El Khammar Haddioui had asked for permission to take care of his hospitalized son.
The murder of the student Mohamed Ait El Jid took place during the violent events that occurred in 1993 at the University of Fez.
