Peugeot Parent PSA Group’s Morocco Purchases Soar to €700 Million in 2018

700 million euros. This is the overall purchasing volume achieved by the PSA Group in Morocco for the year 2018, a figure that far exceeds the commitments made with the State.
According to a press release published by the group, last year, 700 million euros of global sourcing were provided by Morocco through the 63 supplier sites that supply the group, including 27 Greenfield (plant installations in the country).
PSA, which includes Peugeot, Citroën, Opel and DS, is pleased with its job creations in the country, the significant increase in the skills of its ecosystem and the strengthening of Morocco’s trade balance.
This purchasing policy benefits the development of its sales worldwide, particularly in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the group said, according to which "the commitments made publicly by the PSA Group three years ago are held and exceeded thanks to the start-up of the Kenitra site this year".
Scheduled for the current year, the Kenitra plant already has 2,370 specialized engineers and technicians. Among these employees, 370 are on staff with the group while 2,000 are subcontracted to Altran-Maroc, the Ministry of Industry reported last month, which had welcomed the hiring of an additional 900 people.
