Belgian-Moroccan Man Arrested for False Bomb Threat at Fez Airport

A Moroccan residing in Belgium was arrested and then placed in custody after a false bomb alert at Fès-Saïss airport and threats that could jeopardize the safety of a plane in flight.
The Attorney General of the King at the Court of Appeal of Fez ordered the placement in custody of a Moroccan working in Belgium following a false bomb alert at Fès-Saïss airport and threats that could jeopardize the safety of a plane in flight.
The facts took place on Sunday at Fès-Saïss airport. An MRE wishing to travel to Belgium arrived late at the airport, reports the daily Al Massae. Prevented from accessing the runway of the plane, he gets angry. This is followed by an altercation between an airport employee and him. After the incident, the management of Fès-Saïss airport filed a complaint with the competent prosecutor’s office. The latter instructed the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie to open a judicial investigation. The suspect will be arrested, then placed in custody.
The MRE risks a prison sentence and a heavy fine, as national and international laws deal firmly with any threat to the safety of civil aviation.
