After Paris, the Ultras Winners of Wydad Casablanca set New York on fire

The day after their celebration in the streets of the 16th arrondissement of Paris, with smoke bombs and fireworks on the banks of the Seine, the supporters of Wydad set the streets of New York on fire on the occasion of their 20th anniversary. In Europe, in addition to Paris, cities like Lyon, Brussels, Madrid, Barcelona, Cologne or Amsterdam have hosted pyrotechnic shows organized by the Ultras Winners 2005.

In Paris, the demonstration that would have lasted barely two minutes according to a police source cited by Le Parisien, would not have been authorized or supervised by the police. The mayor’s office of the 16th district announced that an investigation has been opened and entrusted to the Paris territorial security. "The police were not warned, because the gathering was not authorized," Philippe Goujon, mayor of the 15th arrondissement, said on BFMTV on Sunday.

And to continue: "Public order has been disturbed. This is completely unacceptable. It is not so much the facts that are serious, since there was no damage, but the challenge to public authority. There may have been for a minute a triggering of totally improvised fireworks that could have been dangerous."

Wydad Casablanca is the most titled Moroccan club. It is currently second in the championship after seven days, tied on points with AD FAR. The club recently recruited Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech, who has been without a club for a few months. The Atlas Lion hopes to gain in regularity to take part in the next Africa Cup of Nations scheduled in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.
