Over 7,400 Moroccan Police Officers Receive Promotions, DGSN Reports

In total, 7,406 police officers, across all corps and ranks, have benefited from advancement by choice for the 2019 fiscal year. This number represents 89.9% of the total budgetary positions dedicated to national security.
The Directorate General of National Security (DGSN specifies that 4,711 uniformed officials and 2,695 civilians, representing 89.2% and 84.7% respectively of the financial shares allocated to these grades and steps, are affected by this advancement.
The same source reports that the Advancement Commission has worked to expand the range of beneficiaries serving in uniform in the lower or middle ranks, from peace officers to senior officers, numbering 4,551 officials, with a 100% rate among chief sergeants and peace officers.
As for the number of beneficiaries serving in civilian attire in the lower or middle ranks, it stood at 2,299 officials, from inspectors to police commissioners, with a 100% rate among officers and police commissioners, and 85% among senior inspectors.
This announcement comes in a context marked by the adoption of the new status of DGSN officials, which guarantees them several administrative and financial incentives, including the reduction of the number of years required to benefit from advancement by choice.
The press release also indicates that the DGSN attaches importance to advancement by choice, particularly for officials belonging to lower ranks, as the main source of administrative incentive that encourages them to show more sacrifice and dedication in the exercise of their noble missions of protecting the security of citizens, preserving their property and improving the quality of the services offered to them.
