Over 26,000 Moroccans Emigrate for Work in 2023, Government Reports

As of last September, more than 26,000 Moroccans have emigrated abroad to settle and work, according to the ministry in charge of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills.
These figures from the report on the migration of Moroccans abroad were presented to the House of Councilors by the Minister of Energy Transition, Leila Benali. More precisely, 26,627 Moroccans left the country to work abroad during the current year, according to figures as of the end of September last.
During this period, the ministry signed 12 partnership agreements with Arab and European countries related to employment opportunities abroad. In this context, "companies from the United Arab Emirates and Qatar employ, each year, Moroccan middle and high-level skills in various economic fields," she specified.
"The ministry has also opened up to new labor markets in Canada, and to new regions in Spain with regard to seasonal work in agriculture, with the opening to other fields including hospitality and maritime transport," she continued.
In addition, new operations have also been relaunched with Germany concerning alternating training for Moroccans in the field of food and construction, and the opening to the Portuguese market in the field of agriculture and hospitality, it is added.
