Outrage in Morocco as Kuwaiti Man Accused of Child Abuse Released on Bail

A Kuwaiti national, accused of pedophilia, was granted provisional release after paying a bail of 30,000 dirhams. A release that has sparked a wave of protests.
In a statement, the local section of the Moroccan Association of Human Rights (AMDH) denounces this case. It noted that "the confiscation of the accused’s travel document was only effective on January 30, after his release was strongly contested".
According to the facts, a 44-year-old Kuwaiti national would have abused a 14-year-old teenager in an apartment, for a sum of 3,600 dirhams. The victim herself confides that the accused had locked her in the trunk of his car until the indicated place, where she had been raped, despite her many pleas.
