Orléans Mother Stranded in Morocco for 40 Days Amid COVID-19 Travel Ban

Mimouna, a mother, is stranded in Morocco due to the state of health emergency and the suspension of air travel due to covid-19. Tired of these involuntarily extended holidays, she is making an urgent call for help to return to Orléans where her children are waiting desperately.
This woman from Orléans and others have been confined in Morocco for 40 days. "The days are very long in the village. I had to buy a Moroccan phone card to be able to stay connected, stay on the lookout and contact the French Consulate General in Marrakech. I am on social networks all day looking for information...," Mimouna tells La République du Centre.
This mother is worried about her two children left in Orléans. "My son, Wassim, is 17 years old. Since he can be left alone, he is keeping the house in my absence and taking care of our cat. His father, from whom I am separated, brings him groceries. He tells me he’s doing well but I feel the confinement is weighing on him," she confides. If the news from her son seems to reassure her, this is not the case with her 11-year-old daughter.
"Inaya was taken care of by my sister-in-law in Sandillon. She has had a very hard time with the situation. In voice messages, she thinks I’m going to die or that I’m never going to come back..." she says, full of emotion. Her wish, she will say, is to return to France as soon as possible. To do this, she has asked for the help of the senator of the Loiret, Jean-Pierre Sueur and the deputy, Caroline Janvier.
"We received an email for a special Air France flight on May 6 at a flat rate of 280 euros, Mimouna said. We signed up with the hope of being selected." However, Philippe Casenave, the French Consul General in Marrakech, specifies that "the priority of registrations on these flights applies to medical and social cases that are particularly reported or critical, as well as to personnel assigned to priority missions defined by our authorities". She hopes to be one of them. Failing that, she is already making an urgent call for help.
