One of the world's largest tin deposits discovered in Morocco

The Achmmach tin deposit, near Meknes, is one of the largest undeveloped deposits in the world. This is evidenced by the latest update published by the company Atlantic Tin Ltd., specialized in tin exploration and development, revealing a significant increase in the estimated resources allocated to this project.

Carried out by the independent firm Cube Consulting according to the Australian JORC (2012) standards, the latest assessment of the Achmmach project shows an upward revision of the total resources to 39.1 million tonnes (Mt) of ore, with an average grade of 0.55% tin, representing 213,000 tonnes of contained tin, an increase of 33% compared to the 2021 assessment.

This progress is notably due to the expansion of the drilling areas with 18 new diamond drill holes in the Sidi Addi zone. Similarly, the Canadian Genius Metals has decided to invest 475,000 Canadian dollars, including 225,000 dedicated to the exploration of a promising copper deposit near Ouarzazate.

The upward revision of the resource assessment will allow Atlantic Tin to strengthen its development plan by acquiring the neighboring Samine mine and including it in the feasibility study. The objective is to restart its activities and optimize the production chain.

"This increase in the resource estimate will serve as the basis for the current feasibility study of the combined Achmmach-Samine project. An updated estimate of the ore reserves will be produced once the technical studies are sufficiently advanced. This increase in tin resources clearly places Achmmach among the largest undeveloped tin deposits worldwide," explains Simon Milroy, CEO of Atlantic Tin Ltd.
