Friday 22 December 2023, by
Several weeks after the death of Omar, a 4-year-old boy, at the Rabat Agdal station, the ONCF has finally decided to react.
The accident occurred on November 1, when little Omar had a fatal fall from the escalator at the Rabat-Agdal train station. This death had moved the web and social networks.
"After choosing to observe a period of reserve out of respect for the mourning and the strict intimacy of the family, following the tragic death of the child Omar, the National Railway Office (ONCF) today wished to express its solidarity with the parents and loved ones and presents its most sincere and saddened condolences," the ONCF said in a statement.
"As soon as this tragedy occurred, the ONCF made itself available to the competent authorities to shed light on the circumstances of this tragic accident and to establish the responsibilities," the ONCF adds, assuring that the Office "is doing everything to guarantee passengers all the safety conditions within its buildings and on board its trains." "In this painful ordeal, the ONCF again expresses all its compassion and deeply shares the pain of the parents," the Office also writes.
