Notorious "Dr Hex" Hacker Arrested in Morocco After Global Cybercrime Spree

Interpol announced the arrest of a hacker in Morocco, thanks to an investigation conducted in collaboration with the Moroccan police and a private group specialized in cybersecurity.
Fraud, phishing (Internet fraud technique to obtain personal data), dossier kits... he signed his attacks under the name "Dr Hex" and would have made thousands of victims, the Interpol press release states.
The note also indicates that the computer hacker would have attacked 134 sites between 2009 and 2018. He was finally apprehended after a two-year investigation thanks to Operation Lyrebird, which Interpol’s cybercrime directorate, in close collaboration with Group-IB and the Moroccan police, through the Interpol central office in Rabat, conducted in Morocco.
For Stephen Kavanagh, Interpol’s Executive Director of Police Services, "the case highlights the threat posed by cybercrime worldwide." The arrested suspect is currently under investigation.
