Notorious Drug Lord Mounir Erramach Remains Imprisoned in Morocco

The information that Mounir Erramach, alias the Pablo Escobar of the North, former drug baron currently detained in the central prison of Kenitra, has regained his freedom, is false.
Mounir Erramach is not yet free to move around. While some media have reported that he has regained his freedom, reliable sources say that it is just a rumor, as the former drug baron is still detained in the central prison of Kenitra.
Prosecuted for international drug trafficking, criminal gang formation, possession of firearms, corruption, Erramach had been sentenced in December 2002 to twenty years in prison.
He who went from a simple cigarette seller to the biggest drug trafficker in the North of the kingdom, had been arrested in 2002. During his trial, 30 other individuals including judges, members of the gendarmerie, police and customs were the subject of deprivation of liberty judgments. They had received sentences ranging from 8 months in prison to life imprisonment.
