Norwegian Mafia Member’s Prison Transfer Compromised by Bribed Moroccan Guards

Six Norwegian nationals were allowed to contact a Norwegian mafia member during his transfer from the Salé prison to the Marrakech international airport for extradition to his country of origin.
The guards in charge of the transfer were, according to Assabah, intercepted by specialized units for monitoring and control, as they had allowed six strangers to exchange information with the mafia member in a public place, violating professional regulations, and in total disregard of the consequences of their act. The transfer was entrusted to another team, which was able to escort the defendant to Marrakech airport and proceed with his extradition.
An investigation, including the six Norwegians, has been opened to determine the relationship of the defendants with the mafia member, and to deliberate on the professional faults and criminal acts committed by the five agents, suspected of having received bribes. The DGSN will decide on the responsibilities of the different parties in the case and the disciplinary measures against the agents, at the end of the investigation.
Wanted on an international arrest warrant issued by the Oslo services of Interpol in September 2018 for attempted murder, obstruction of an official investigation by falsifying evidence, as well as several serious offenses, the Norwegian-born detainee had been held in detention at the Salé prison before being brought before the Court of Cassation, which decided on his extradition.
