Nora Fatehi and Jason Derulo Release Cross-Cultural Collaboration ’Snake’
The Moroccan-Canadian singer, actress, producer and dancer Nora Fatehi has unveiled her new single, in a duo with the American artist, choreographer, actor, and producer Jason Derulo. A well-crafted masterpiece already available on social networks, particularly TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.
"Snake". This is the title of Nora Fatehi’s new single, produced in collaboration with Jason Derulo. The track showcases the versatility of the two artists while pushing the boundaries of the genre, reports Variety. "Some collaborations can seem a bit forced, while this one seemed... like a hot knife through butter, Derulo explains. I felt like it was exactly what I was looking for." Nora, for her part, has reflected on how to blend three different cultures into a single project. A complexity. "I was trying to figure out how to blend three different cultures into one project and make it global," she explains. "We wanted a hook that repeats, very easy to remember."
An international team was brought in. They worked 15 to 16 hours a day to materialize the project. The clip was directed by Moroccan director Abderrafia El Abdioui and choreographed by Indian Rajit Dev. The shooting took place in Marrakech where stunning landscapes were filmed. "We created a futuristic Morocco in the visuals," Fatehi says. Despite the production challenges, she embraced the process: "I love the panic, the anxiety, because I know that with anxiety, something incredible is about to happen."
With 46.7 million followers on Instagram, 4.4 million on TikTok and 4 million subscribers on YouTube, as well as 470,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, Nora will be able to make "Snake" a hit on social networks. Jason Derulo’s number of followers is also not negligible: 66 million subscribers on TikTok, 35 million on Instagram and 40.3 million subscribers on YouTube, as well as 30 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Already, the clip has been well received by Fatehi’s fans. "The collaboration we never thought we needed," writes one of Fatehi’s followers.
