Sofiane Diop, who fractured the third metatarsal of his right foot during the match against Toulouse, will be sidelined for about six weeks, coach Francesco Farioli has just confirmed.
This absence comes at a critical time for Nice, currently second in Ligue 1 behind Paris Saint-Germain, as Diop has not yet scored a goal or provided an assist this season.
Beyond his club, this injury could also have repercussions on Diop’s international career. Recently called up to the Moroccan national team, he risks missing the next Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire, as the duration of his unavailability coincides with the period preceding the tournament.
