NGO Calls for International Probe into Alleged Human Rights Abuses in Tindouf Camps

The NGO "SOS Tindouf camps" as well as several associative actors have just demanded an international investigation into "the atrocities perpetrated against Moroccans in Lahmada".
According to Sidi Mohamed, president of the NGO "SOS Tindouf Camps" and the other participants in this meeting, "degrading practices infringing on human rights, in particular forced disappearances, exile and torture are taking place in the Polisario detention camps with the blessing of Algeria."
In addition to the atrocities suffered by Moroccan Sahrawis in the Tindouf camps located in southern Algeria, the final declaration also mentions "the diversion of humanitarian aid intended for and which rather benefits the members of the Polisario leadership, or ends up in the black markets of neighboring countries where they are marketed".
Concerned about the socio-political situation that has prevailed for some time in Algeria, these associative actors have urgently called on international governmental and non-governmental organizations, in particular the United Nations (UN), to take their responsibilities.
