Newborn’s Body Discovered in Mosque Garden, Sparking Investigation

The lifeless body of a newborn was found this Sunday, November 24, 2019 in the garden of the Grand Mosque in the center of Inezgane. It was the residents who made this macabre discovery on their way back from prayer.
The local authorities dispatched to the scene indicated that the baby had been placed in a plastic bag before being thrown into the grass of the garden.
The infant’s body was examined before being taken to the morgue of the Hassan II regional hospital.
It will be subjected to a medical autopsy on the orders of the competent prosecutor’s office, while a judicial investigation has been opened to identify its parents and determine the circumstances of this act.
