Netanyahu Seeks Tripartite Deal on Western Sahara for Israel-Morocco Normalization

The normalization of relations between Tel Aviv and Rabat is still a concern for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The latter is said to have tried to conclude a tripartite agreement between Israel, the United States and Morocco.
According to the Israeli channel Channel 13, the compromise is focused on the recognition of Moroccan sovereignty over the Western Sahara in exchange for the normalization of relations between Tel Aviv and Rabat.
The same source recalls that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly tried to make this agreement come to fruition in Washington last year, but in vain. First, he suffered a first setback with the former US National Security Advisor, John Bolton.
In 2019, he embarks on a new attempt. This time, he seeks the support of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to make this enterprise prosper; which will not succeed for him.
According to an Israeli official who requested anonymity, the Moroccans are unhappy with Tel Aviv’s attempts to maintain "clandestine" relations with Rabat.
