Netanyahu’s Mysterious Detour: UN Trip Sparks Global Intrigue

The itinerary of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s trip to the UN General Assembly in New York has raised many questions. The unusual route of his plane, which carefully avoided the airspace of several countries, including Morocco, has fueled speculation about the reasons for this detour.
The plane, which left Tel Aviv on Wednesday evening, followed an atypical route. According to data from the FlightRadar24 website, after a brief overflight of Greece and Italy, the aircraft followed the North African coast before passing directly over the Strait of Gibraltar to reach the Atlantic. This route added more than two hours to the usual flight time, which reached thirteen hours.
Several Israeli media have linked this decision to the fear of a possible arrest. Benjamin Netanyahu is indeed the subject of arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court for accusations of war crimes in Gaza, which complicates his travels in many countries.
When questioned about the fact that the plane did not fly over France as usual, French diplomatic sources stated that Paris had not imposed any ban. They specified that the Israeli Prime Minister had made the decision "on his own initiative", thus leaving doubt about a self-imposed precautionary measure.
