Nationwide Search Launched for Missing 13-Year-Old Boy in Morocco

The national brigade of the judicial police of Larache has issued a nationwide search notice to find a missing minor child under mysterious circumstances. Sofiane Lhirech, 13 years old, has not given any news of himself for more than a month.
After unsuccessful searches in hospitals and youth centers, Fatiha finally reported her son’s disappearance to the city’s police services.
"This is not his first runaway. The police are aware of his previous escapades, which were mostly due to his young age. But this time, things are different. Sofiane is 13 years old today and he disappeared without a trace," said the mother.
Relatives and neighbors have joined the effort, reports the website Achkayen, exploring every nook and cranny of the city in search of little Sofiane. His family fears a misfortune, especially since with the surge in delinquency, Larache is the daily scene of brawls and violence, some neighbors confide.
A call for witnesses has been issued by the city authorities to find the missing child. A phone number has been made available to people who may come into contact with the minor.
