Nationwide Recall: Halal Merguez Sausages Contaminated with Veterinary Drugs

Several batches of dangerous halal merguez sold in Métro stores throughout France have been the subject of a massive recall.
The massive recall of merguez manufactured by the Breton slaughterhouses Jean Chaplin began last Monday. These are sausages marketed from June 25, 2024 to July 20, 2024. According to the government website Rappel Conso, they contain "veterinary drug residues". The massive recall concerns the following models: Halal Merguez 50-60 g natural casing; Halal merguez special sandwich; Halal Merguez in 2.3 kg, Halal merguez vacuum packed.
As a precaution, it is strongly advised not to consume the following numbered merguez: 970/241770035, 970/241770036, 970/241770037 and 970/241770047. Their best-before date covers the period from July 13 to July 20, 2024. Similarly, it is recommended to return these sausages to the stores where they were purchased to obtain a refund until Saturday, August 3, 2024, the end date of the recall procedure, or to destroy them.
