Muslim School in Nanterre Faces Potential Closure After Critical Inspections

Battered by inspection reports, the Muslim school of Nanterre Ibn Badis is again under the threat of closure. The officials are sounding the alarm.

Is the first and only Muslim school in Hauts-de-Seine threatened with closure? This is what the management fears, which has expressed "its consternation and indignation at the formal notices issued" against it after three inspections (academic, health and police) that the school was the subject of on October 20 and 22.

Among these two formal notices, one concerns the head of the institution. The institute is summoned by the rectorate to appoint within a period of one month a person with the required conditions to hold the position of head of the establishment. "Otherwise, we would be in the most tragic configuration, because the question of the closure of the school will be considered," the institute warns.

The second concerns the health aspect, on which the inspection questions the school catering provider, the management informs, adding that this other formal notice "forces us to respond to requirements within an extremely short time frame, resulting in consequences that would greatly and directly impact the families, particularly in terms of pricing."

Faced with this situation, the institute has reassured the parents of students that it intends to take "all its responsibilities" to avoid the closure of the school. "All our energies and means of action will be mobilized in order to ensure the sustainability of our establishment," it is affirmed.
