Muslim Influencer Alleges Discrimination at Paris Restaurant Over Hijab

A few months later, the Moroccan Salma Masrour, a veiled influencer specialized in modest fashion living in the United Kingdom, is speaking out about being turned away from a Parisian restaurant. She says she is determined to use her networks to talk about the problems related to wearing the veil and prejudices against Muslim women.
Last November, the British social media star of Moroccan origin Salma Masrour, an influencer specialized in modest fashion, recounted having been a victim of discrimination in the popular Gigi Paris restaurant because of her veil. The restaurant staff had told her that there were no seats available. "I checked online and there were tables available, but the way she looked at me was not normal. [...] Ten minutes later, my white, blonde friend went in to ask for a table, and they immediately told her there was space," she explains in a video posted after the incident. The video went viral on social media and many Internet users were outraged.
A few months after the incident, Salma is still angry. She blames the restaurant for taking time to fulfill its promise to "make changes." A promise "that does not go far enough." "I was angry. I’m usually a calm person and it takes a lot to make me angry, but I was seething inside. I didn’t expect such a reaction to my videos. The restaurant’s Google rating went from 4.5 to 1.5 and thousands of people were calling them out in the comments," she tells Middle East Eye. This incident made her feel very bad. "I can’t even imagine
