Morocco’s Ziyech Among Players Recalled for World Cup Playoff Against DR Congo

Before the publication on March 17 of the list of players selected for the double confrontation against the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the pre-list of 40 players, drawn up by Vahid Halilhodzic, contains surprises and marks the return of certain players absent for several months, including Hakim Ziyech.
Will the playoff matches signal the end of the differences between the coach and certain players? During a passage on MFM this Sunday, March 13, Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), announced that Hakim Ziyech, Noussair Mazraoui and Abde Ezzalzouli have received their pre-call-up for the next gathering of the Atlas Lions.
The final list will be unveiled next Thursday, but will Hakim Ziyech accept the coach’s outstretched hand, since a few weeks ago he had announced his departure from the national team, specifying that his decision was final. For Noussair Mazraoui, the problem does not arise. But for Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, the probability of a positive response remains very low, since FC Barcelona B announced on Saturday that the 20-year-old player is likely to be unavailable for some time due to a right knee injury.
The matches will be held on March 25 and 29, at the Martyrs Stadium in Kinshasa and then at the Mohammed V Complex in Casablanca.
