Morocco Weighs TikTok Ban Amid Concerns Over Youth Morality

Faced with the moral depravity caused by the use of TikTok, opposition deputies have called on the Moroccan government to take responsibility and ban the Chinese application in the kingdom. But will they succeed?
During the oral question session in the House of Representatives, opposition deputies stated that the use of TikTok by Moroccan youth and adolescents undermines the moral values of the kingdom. To stop the bleeding, they asked the government of Aziz Akhannouch to ban the use of the Chinese platform in the kingdom.
In response, the Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Ouahbi, said that Morocco is bound by commitments and therefore cannot ban this application. However, measures are being taken, in collaboration with the security services, to control and censor the content published by Moroccan internet users on social networks, assured the member of the government, who called on young people to be vigilant and cautious in order to avoid falling into traps of fraud and scams.
