Morocco’s Water Authority Refutes Rumors of Drinking Water Shortages Amid Drought

The National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) strongly condemns the false allegations circulated about the measures it intends to take to deal with the problem of lack of rain and its use of reducing the supply period for drinking water.
The scarcity of rain has been circulating, for a few days, rumors tending to make the population believe that, in addition to the restrictions imposed by the authorities in several other sectors, it will have to face a reduction in the supply period for drinking water. ONEE has already published a press release to categorically deny these unfounded rumors.
The Office wishes to inform the citizens once again that "the supply of drinking water has not undergone any change, and that it continues normally". ONEE intends "to take all the legal measures in force to deal with these rumors and allegations".
