Morocco Upgrades F-16 Fleet with Advanced US Weapons System, Doubling Combat Capacity

Morocco has decided to double the capabilities of the F-16 aircraft of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR). It has entrusted this mission to the American company L3Harris Technologies, specialized in military surveillance equipment, microwave weapons, and electronic warfare.
L3Harris Technologies will provide a smart bomb release system to the air forces of three countries: Morocco, Jordan and Bahrain as part of an initial $26 million contract. The delivery contract is of indefinite duration and indefinite quantity with an initial lot of 105 release systems.
Called the (BRU)-57/A, this release system allows the F-16s to double their ammunition capacity, but also to reduce the number of aircraft during an attack mission. It also allows to gain a lot of time when returning from a bombing mission, with a view to its rearming.
For the record, Washington had also approved the modernization of the Moroccan F-16s that the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) already own, for an amount of $983 million.
