Morocco Upgrades F-16 Fleet with Advanced Electronic Warfare System

Morocco has acquired state-of-the-art armor from the American company L3Harris Technologies, specialized in military surveillance equipment, directed energy weapons, electronic warfare, for its F-16 aircraft.
Viper Shield EW. This is the American system that Morocco has acquired from L3Harris Technologies for its F-16 aircraft. The main feature of this state-of-the-art armor is electronic defense against possible digital jamming attacks, and EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse Attacks). This new system "allows the detection of radar threats and the provision of digital countermeasures, while the advanced digital radar receiver is integrated into the APG-83 radar, which has an active electronic scanning function," reports Atalayar.com.
The acquisition of this Viper Shield EW is part of an agreement concluded between the central administration of Morocco and the aerospace and defense company L3Harris. "As the only GE system for these aircraft to have successfully passed this called CDR (Critical Design Review), we are a little closer to helping our global customers detect and defeat modern and advanced threats," said Ed Zoiss, president of Space and Airbone Systems at L3Harris.
