Morocco Unveils State-of-the-Art Police Headquarters in Casablanca to Combat Transnational Crime

The National Brigade of the Judicial Police (BNPJ) has a brand new headquarters to house its services in charge of criminal investigations. The infrastructure was officially inaugurated on Sunday in Casablanca.
Built on Boulevard Brahim Roudani, the building designed in a modern architectural style with a Moroccan touch, is built on an area of 16,000 m², and consists of 8 levels, including two basements, housing at each level, the services of cybercrime, irregular migration, the fight against terrorism, international drug trafficking and any other form of transnational crime.
This new headquarters built according to the standards and regulations governing sensitive security infrastructures houses the detention rooms for persons in custody. These premises intended for persons in custody are equipped with the necessary amenities, with the reservation of a space for women and observation rooms for minors. They are equipped with a modern video surveillance system and a clinic equipped with the necessary means for diagnosis and first aid.
The new BNPJ headquarters is accessible to people with disabilities and has reception and orientation facilities, such as rooms dedicated to contact with lawyers and rooms for the identification of suspects, as well as a conference room equipped with audiovisual equipment, parking lots, a prayer room and a canteen.
The inauguration of the new BNPJ headquarters is part of the DGSN’s strategy to strengthen the human and technological capabilities of the judicial police services in the prevention and fight against new forms of crime, particularly those of a transnational nature.
