Morocco Unveils Plans for New 20 Million Passenger Airport in Casablanca

Morocco is embarking on an ambitious project: the construction of a new airport in Casablanca, with a capacity of 20 million passengers per year. This airport will be located opposite the existing Mohammed V airport, which will be kept.
The National Airports Office (ONDA) has thus favored an expansion of the reception capacities rather than a simple renovation or an extension of the current airport.
To facilitate travel between the two platforms, tunnels will be built under the runways, used by modern trains. This system, already proven in other international airports, will help streamline passenger transit and optimize connections between flights.
On the ground, preparations have begun under the leadership of the Wali of the region and the CEO of ONDA. This project, which aims to improve the country’s infrastructure and respond to the growth of air traffic, is part of a long-term development strategy.
