Morocco Unveils Plan to Digitize 2,500 Government Procedures

The government intends to soon simplify and digitize some 2,500 procedures. This is what Ghita Mezzour, Minister of Digital Transition and Public Administration Reform, declared to the House of Representatives.
This strategy is part of the e-government project. A roadmap has been developed, involving several key partners, including the Ministries of the Interior, Justice, Industry and Trade, as well as Economy and Finance.
The citizen can already, she says, benefit from many digital services, allowing access to various documents without having to travel, such as criminal records, birth certificate extracts or property certificates.
This digitization process is still unknown to many Moroccans, but it is constantly expanding. The objective is to strengthen these digital services and promote their existence among the population.
"Digital technology is considered a real lever for change and development, which is why it is of particular interest at the highest level of the State. Indeed, the Royal Directives have repeatedly emphasized the need to make the digital transition the catalyst for a structuring transformation with a strong impact in order to give new impetus to the country’s development," said the minister.
