Morocco Unveils National Report on Racial Discrimination Efforts to Parliament

The National Report on the Implementation of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination brought together this Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at the House of Representatives, the Ministry of State, in charge of Human Rights and the Commission of Justice, Legislation and Human Rights.
This meeting aimed to present the draft National Report in connection with the implementation of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, specifies a press release from the Ministry, relayed by Hespress. It also intended to strengthen positive interaction with parliamentarians and work for the culture of dialogue and coordination around the validated initiatives. This should lead to the consideration of the recommendations and final observations of the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination submitted to Morocco.
This meeting was also intended to contribute to the finalization of the consultation process for the preparation of the National Report. It comes after the two regional consultation meetings held in Fez and Marrakech, respectively, on April 6 and 13, 2019, as well as after the National Consultation meeting organized in Rabat on April 23, 2019.
In the same vein, a new communication meeting with the Commission of Justice, Legislation and Human Rights at the House of Representatives is scheduled for this month, the same source specifies.
