Morocco Unveils First Domestically Produced Electric Vehicle Charging Station

The very first intelligent charging station produced entirely in Morocco is now a reality. Intended for iSmart electric vehicles, it was presented at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Green and Digital Economy.
A true national pride for Morocco, which is fighting to build a worthy automotive industry, the development of the intelligent charging station for iSmart electric vehicles has seduced more than one.
On Monday, December 21, 2020, its presentation at the Ministry of Industry brought together a host of partners, industry players, and competent authorities, reports maroc-diplomatique.net. Moulay Hafid Elalamy, the supervising minister, did not hide his joy at this purely Moroccan achievement: "I am very happy and proud of this highly strategic project for our country that has been carried out by Moroccan skills. It represents one of the components of the sustainable mobility infrastructure in which Morocco is engaged under the impetus of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him," he said.
The object of all attractions, the charging station is the result of a research project developed at the request of automotive industry players by the Green Energy Park, a research platform set up jointly by IRESEN and the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), and supported by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Green and Digital Economy and the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Environment.
It should be noted that Ismart is positioning itself as a new generation of intelligent charging stations for professional and domestic use, with two types of connectors and 4 versions: wall-mounted, mobile, on a lamppost or on a pedestal. With a capacity ranging from 7 to 22 kW, it is intended for the Moroccan market and includes technical characteristics adapted for flexible and efficient use.
