Morocco Unveils CAN e-Visa: Game-Changer for Africa Cup 2025

In the perspective of organizing the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2025), Morocco has decided to impose a temporary visa called the CAN e-visa (AEVM) on the participating countries, including countries usually exempted from entry visas such as Tunisia.

This exceptional measure will come into effect from September 25, 2025, until January 26, 2026. The objective is to regulate the massive influx of supporters expected for the 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2025), which Morocco will host from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026, and to strengthen the security measures. The electronic visa will allow better monitoring of entries into the territory and contribute to ensuring the smooth running of the competition, say the Moroccan authorities.

In the eyes of the former Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Ounaies, this measure is simply "natural and traditional", as it is taken during major international sporting events. "This is not a decision specifically targeting Tunisia, but a general rule that affects all countries exempted from the visa," he emphasized on Diwan FM. To obtain the temporary visa, it is enough to make an online application by providing all the requested information.
