Morocco Unveils Anti-Corruption Authority Bill to Boost Governance and Civic Values

The Minister of Economy and Finance presented draft law No. 19-46 relating to the National Authority for Integrity, Prevention and the Fight against Corruption. This document presented before the Justice Commission in the House of Representatives sets the operating bases of the authority.
This authority has a crucial role to play in the fight against corruption. According to Mohamed Benchaaboun, it must ensure the monitoring of the implementation of anti-corruption policies, and consolidate the principles of good governance, give rise in every citizen to the culture of public service and respect for civic values.
For the minister, the text also emphasizes the authorities responsible for initiating administrative or criminal proceedings.
